Jagatsingpur, Jan 18: The Jagatsingpur police has cracked the interstate linkage of Irani gang with arrest a member of the group.
While investigating the loot of Jagannathpur jewellery shop, the police have unearthed the crime regime of Irani gang stretching from Odisha to Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
Police said aides of Irani gang looted Sarala Jewellery shop at Jagannath market in Tirtol on January 7 and later the police initiated a investigation.
In the meantime, the gang conducted loots in different places in Sambalpur with the same modus operandi.
Acting upon it, the Jagatsingpur police raided one of the dens of Irani gang in Khariar road in Nuapada district and arrested a member. The police have also recovered large tune of gold jewels from him.
Further investigation is on to unearth the other folder of the case, said police.
