A health department team has collected water samples and conducted door-to-door swab testing in the complex, which houses around 1,800 people. So far, 12 positive cases have been confirmed. Officials suspect contaminated water as the cause, though test results are awaited.

Previously, jaundice had spread in Badagada’s Brit Colony and EA Colony due to water contamination, raising concerns about recurring outbreaks in nearby areas.

Meanwhile, dengue continues to surge in Khordha district, with 373 cases reported this season. Bhubaneswar alone accounts for 219 cases, followed by Balakati (13), Balipatna (18), and other nearby regions. Health officials are urging residents to maintain hygiene and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear.
