New Delhi, August 12: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday announced that the party will soon launch another protest, describing it as “Season 2 of Jantar Mantar,” following its 37-day student-led agitation.

Addressing a public gathering, Dipke said several people had been asking on Instagram when the second phase of the protest would begin. “I want to tell them that Season 2 of Jantar Mantar is going to start very soon,” he said.

Dipke also alleged that the CJP faced difficulties in arranging a venue for a volunteers’ meeting in Delhi, claiming that several hall owners cited “pressure from above” for refusing to rent their premises to the party.

“We were scheduled to hold our volunteers’ meet in Delhi today. We were looking for a hall, but no one would rent us one. Everyone kept saying there was pressure from above,” Dipke alleged.

He claimed that the party eventually secured a venue, but alleged that the hall owners were threatened on the morning of the meeting. According to Dipke, they were warned against allowing the CJP meeting to take place at the venue.

Accusing the BJP of being behind the alleged threats, Dipke said such actions would not intimidate the party. He claimed the developments showed that the ruling party was “afraid of the country’s youth.”

The announcement comes weeks after the CJP ended its 37-day protest at Jantar Mantar on July 25. The agitation was withdrawn following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and assurances on some of the protesters’ key demands.

Reacting to Dipke’s “Jantar Mantar Season 2” remark, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said the second phase had already begun, with protests taking place across the country.

“This itself is Season Two. Protests are taking place across the country against such incompetent governments and officers,” Das said.

He added that the CJP would now undertake a nationwide “listening tour” to hear public concerns and launch a campaign focusing on key issues, with education identified as the party’s priority ahead of Independence Day.
