Janmashtami 2021: Odia girl’s artistic offering for Lord Krishna

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: One of the most celebrated and cherished festivals of India, Janmashtami or the birthday of Lord Krishna is just a few days away. The Hindu festival is celebrated on the 8th day of the dark fortnight of Bhadrapada month in India.

The festival is also popularly known as Janmashtami or Gokulashatami, this annual Hindu festival celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, believed to be the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Priyanka Sahani, 26-year-old artist from Bhubaneswar has made a special artistic offering for Lord Krishna. She has painted the upper part of her face like Mirabai and the lower part of her face as Radha Rani.

Besides, the Odia artist has made a flute using paper for the lord.

The Krishna Paksha Ashtami tithi of Bhadrapada will fall on August 30, hence, the Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on this day. Lord Krishna is worshipped during Nishita Kaal as it is believed that he was born at midnight. As per the Panchang, the Nishita Kaal will prevail from 11:59 pm to 12:44 am on August 31.
