Jajpur: Police intensifies search for missing two-year-old girl ‘Pihu’

Binjharpur, Feb 15: Binjharpur police has intensified its search operation to trace out a two-year-old girl child of Madhusudanpur in Jajpur district, Pihu, who has been missing from August 9, 2020. District police has put up posters in public places and announced a prize of Rs. 20,000 for the informant. A pond near Madhusudanpur was dried up to find out some clue about the missing child. Sources said, Monalisha Nayak’s daughter Subhalaxi (Pihu) went missing while she was playing on the village street at Madhusudanpur. Monalisha had lodged a complaint at Binjharpur police station. Police registered a missing case and interrogated Pihu’s father Laxman Nayak who had an ill will with monalisha. But, police could not establish Laxman’s connivance in it. Pihu could neither be traced nor the mystery of her sudden vanish came to light for months. Being harassed Monalisha, appealed the district SP and Collector along with Women & Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu to find out her missing kid. In the mean time, delegates of state congress put forth the case before the district SP demanding the kid’s search. Acting on it, Binjharpur police has intensified search operation.
