Cuttack, Mar 22: Craniopagus Jaga who is now undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack is going to be discharged soon. He will be handed over to the Kandhamal District Headquarters Hospital soon. Acting on the application of Jaga’s mother Puspanjali Kanhara, State Health Department has asked the SCB Medical College and Hospital authorities to initiate his shifting to Kandhamal. Sources said, Puspanjali had appealed the Kandhamal district collector to shift Jaga to the district headquarter hospital. She stated her financial difficulties over treating her son at SCB.The application was forwarded to the state health department and got due approval of the authorities. The state health directorate has asked the SCB authorities, especially to the special team formed for Jaga’s care to initiate his shifting. On the other hand, the team leader and the Head of the Neurosurgery department Prof. Sudhanshu Mishra has okayed Jaga’s shifting after he examined Jaga’s condition. It may be recalled that the craniopagus conjoined twin Jaga-Balia were admitted at SCB Medical College & Hospital after successful separation at AIIMS, New Delhi in September 2019. Meanwhile Balia succumbed in the ICU at Cuttack.
