Bhubaneswar: Separated conjoined twins Jaga and Kalia, who have been under treatment in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for the last two years after operation, are likely to depart Delhi today evening and reach the State tomorrow.
On their return, the twins would be admitted the neurosurgery ward of the SCB Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. A four-member doctors’ team of the AIIMS, New Delhi will accompany Jaga Kalia to SCB. Dr DP Nayak and Dr SS Bariha from the SCBMCH, who have gone to bring the twins, would also come with them.
According to reports, the AIIMS authorities would hold a Press meet at Delhi at 12 pm today before Jaga and Kalia are discharged from the premier hospital.
Notably, the craniopagus conjoined twins hailing from Milipada village in Kandhamal district were separated by a team of doctors at the AIIMS New Delhi after a marathon 21-hour surgery in October 2017.
