Bhubaneswar: A day after quitting the party, G Udaygiri MLA Jacob Pradhan today resigned as from his post as MLA. He met Assembly Speaker Pradip Amat in Boudh and submitted his resignation.
He resigned from the Congress a day after filing nomination as an Independent candidate from the G Udaygiri seat. The party denied ticket to him this time and fielded Shyamaghana Pradhan from G Udaygiri.
On Tuesday, three former MLAs of tribal dominated Kalahandi district alleged that the party was selling tickets to candidates with the highest bidding and also sent a single resignation letter to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik.
Earlier, four sitting MLAs – Nabakishore Das of Jharsuguda, Jogesh Singh of Sundergarh, Krushna Chandra Sagaria of Koraput and Prakash Behera of Salipur have resigned party.
