ITAT at Cuttack will have quick disposal of income tax appeal cases from Odisha and Eastern region: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, Nov 11: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today expressed hope that the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) at Cuttack will have quick disposal of income tax appeal cases not only from Odisha but also cases belonging to Ranchi, Patna and Guwahati benches. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Office-cum-Residential Complex of Cuttack Bench of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal through video conference today. During the inauguration ceremony, Naveen said that it is a happy occasion for his to witness the inauguration of modern state-of-the-art, Office-cum-Residential Complex of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal. “I understand; this is the third building complex for ITAT benches in India, and first in Eastern part of our Country. It may be recalled that the Cuttack Bench was established way back in 1970, with active involvement of Late Biju Patnaik. The Government of Odisha, has always been supportive of the development of ITAT, Cuttack Bench, which includes provision of free land for this complex. In last 50 years, the Cuttack Bench of ITAT has been playing an important role in disposal of cases,” said Naveen. The CM also congratulated the President, ITAT, and other agencies involved in speedy completion of this Office-cum-Residential complex at Cuttack.
