Officials from the Income Tax Department launched the operation on Wednesday, beginning with a raid at Das’s residence in Jharsuguda, which remains ongoing. Sources said around 10 senior officers are involved in the coordinated crackdown.

The operation expanded today with fresh raids at several properties in Sambalpur associated with the late minister. Teams also conducted simultaneous searches in Bhubaneswar, Delhi, and other parts of Odisha, targeting residences, business establishments, offices, and premises of close aides and family members.

In Sundargarh, officials raided the home of Sanjay Nanda, a known business associate of Naba Das and the owner of Matarani Transport. Sources claim Nanda allegedly made investments in a benami company reportedly operated by Das’s son.

The large-scale operation is part of a broader investigation into suspected financial irregularities and unaccounted assets linked to the late minister and his close network.
