Sambalpur, May 1: A racket involved in IPL betting was busted by Sambalpur police with arrest of two persons on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Subham Sahu of Ainthapali and Harish Sahu of railway fatak locality in Jharsuguda.
Rs 1. 92lakh and three expensive mobile phones have been seized from their possession.
Police also freezed Rs 4,10,746 deposits of seven bank accounts, SP Batula Gangadhar informed.
According to SP Gangadhar, IPL betting was on in Sambalpur. Since the betting took place on the mobile app, the police pretended to be customers and created fake IDs and passwords. On 26 April, the town police IIC and a special squad raided at Baidyanath Chowk area of Golbazar and arrested Shubham.
Based on the information given by Subham, the official arrested Harish from Jharsuguda.
However two other bookies managed to give police a slip.
