New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Mar 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday extended warm wishes on International Women's Day recognizing the strength and contribution of women.

PM Modi bowed to ‘Nari Shakti’ on Women’s Day and said that his government has always worked for empowering women, reflecting in our schemes and programs.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, “We bow to our Nari Shakti on #WomensDay! Our Government has always worked for empowering women, reflecting in our schemes and programmes. Today, as promised, my social media properties will be taken over by women who are making a mark in diverse fields!”

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi also extended wishes and said women are the backbone of our society.

“Women are the backbone of our society, shaping our future with their strength, wisdom, and determination. On #InternationalWomensDay, let's celebrate the unwavering spirit, resilience, and achievements of women across #Odisha and beyond. Let us all pledge to build a more inclusive, equitable, and progressive society where every woman can dream, achieve, and lead,” wrote CM Majhi on ‘X’.

It is worth mentioning that International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated worldwide on March 8, recognizing women's achievements and promotes gender equality.

In 2025, the theme is "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment", highlighting the urgent need to accelerate progress toward gender parity.
