Indian Women's Hockey team go down 2-3 to Korea in semi final of Asia Cup

Muscat, Jan 26: The India Women's Hockey Team lost 3-2 against Korea in the first Semi Final of the Women's Asia Cup here on Wednesday in Muscat, Oman. Vandana Katariya (28'), who has been in good form throughout the season, and Lalremsiami (54') scored the two goals for India in the match, while Eunbi Cheon (31'), Seung Ju Lee (45'), and Hyejin Cho (47') scored the three goals for Korea. Team India started the match on the front foot, penetrating inside the Korean circle and troubling their defence. India continued their attacking display at the start of the 2nd quarter. India took the lead in the 28th minute through Vandana Katariya before Korea made a brilliant comeback after the change of ends and scored thrice through skipper Enubi Cheon (31st), Seung Ju Lee (45th) and Hyejin Cho (47th) to stun the holders, getting inside the circle in the 16th minute to shake up the Korean defence. The Indian Women's Hockey team will face off against either Japan or China in the 3rd/4th place Match of the Women's Asia Cup 2022 on Friday.
