New Delhi, Jan 26: The Indian Air Force (IAF) extended warm greetings to the nation on the 77th Republic Day, celebrated on January 26, 2026, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s skies with honour and courage. Through a post on X, the IAF expressed its resolve, stating, "The Indian Air Force extends warm greetings on the 77th Republic Day, 2026. Ever vigilant, the IAF remains infallible in resolve, impervious to challenges, and precise in action—steadfast in safeguarding the nation's skies and upholding the ideals of our Constitution with honour and courage."

The post tagged key officials, including the Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, and the official accounts of the Directorate of Public Relations, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, and the Indian Navy. The IAF's message highlighted its dedication to defending the country and its ideals.

On this Republic Day, the parade will feature 30 tableaux, showcasing the jointness of India’s military forces, with the Indian Air Force also presenting a veteran's tableau in tribute to ex-servicemen. The Republic Day parade will commence at 9:30 am, with live coverage, and will conclude with a spectacular flypast by 29 IAF aircraft. The Indian Air Force’s participation will include its ceremonial marching contingent, Air Force band, armed forces veteran tableau, and the traditional flypast.

The IAF contingent will consist of four officers (one contingent commander and three supernumerary officers) and 144 airmen. The parade will also feature a thrilling flypast with 02 Rafale, 02 MiG-29, 02 Su-30, and 01 Jaguar in a coordinated 'Spearhead' formation.

This year, the IAF will prominently showcase the "Sindoor" formation during the parade, symbolizing the air power that played a crucial role in Operation Sindoor. The fighter aircraft that participated in this significant operation will take to the skies, underscoring the force's combat readiness.

In a notable first, Agniveers will join the parade as part of the Indian Air Force Marching Band, marking their active participation in the nation’s Republic Day celebrations.

On Sunday, President Droupadi Murmu further emphasized the nation’s military strength and the Indian Air Force’s preparedness. Reflecting on her experience flying in Sukhoi and Rafale fighter jets, the President said, "I had the opportunity to fly in the Sukhoi and Rafale fighter planes of the Indian Air Force.
