Indian female athletes secure early medals at Asian Games
Indian shooters opened the nation's medal tally by claiming silver in the women's 10m air rifle team event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Combining brilliant precision, Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, and Vidarsa Vinod scored a total of 1898 points to finish right behind the Chinese team. Valarivan delivered an exceptional individual performance with 633.5 points, advancing to the final round along with her teammate Maskar. She executed a brilliant reversal to take her opponent to the mat, controlling the ground action completely until the bout ended.
