Indian sprinters win silver while Seema takes distance bronze

India captured a hard-fought silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay final during the Asian Games. Track and field athletes from the country continue to build international momentum, delivering consistent podium finishes in major continental championships.

Vishal TK opened the race, setting a steady pace before passing the baton to Poovamma MR. Manu TS took over for the third leg, using a late burst of speed to keep the squad in medal contention. Vithya Ramraj ran a spectacular anchor leg, pushing the quartet into second place. The team completed the race with a total time of 3:14.46. Bahrain claimed gold by clocking 3:12.87, featuring a strong closing run by Salwa Eid Nasser. Another competing squad finished in 3:14.54 to round out the podium.

Distance Runner Secures Medal

Seema Kumari delivered another success story earlier in the day by winning bronze in the women's 10,000m final. She stayed close to the leaders through most of the challenging distance race. Winfred Yavi and Nozomi Tanaka fought hard in a final sprint for the top two spots. Yavi eventually won gold with a time of 32:39.18. Japan's Tanaka finished second in 32:41.54.

Seema pulled away from the trailing pack during the final laps. She crossed the finish line in 32:50.05 to claim third place. These performances add valuable hardware to the national tally while showcasing growing depth across both sprint and distance events.
