India clinches spot in men’s Asia Cup final with dominant 7-0 win over China

​​​​​​​Rajgir (Bihar), Sept 7: India delivered a stunning 7-0 victory over China in their final Super 4s match on Saturday (September 6) at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir, securing a spot in the men’s Asia Cup hockey tournament final.

India dominated the match from start to finish, with goals from Shilanand Lakra (4th minute), Dilpreet Singh (7th), Mandeep Singh (18th), Raj Kumar Pal (37th), Sukhjeet Singh (39th), and Abhishek (46th, 50th).

This commanding victory secured India’s top spot in the Super 4s standings with seven points, ahead of defending champions Korea, who finished with four points.

India will now face five-time champions Korea in Sunday’s final, with the winner earning a spot in next year’s World Cup, co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, China and Malaysia will battle for third place, also on Sunday. Earlier, Korea made a comeback to defeat Malaysia 4-3 in a crucial Super 4 match that they had to win.
