Jharsuguda, May 14: Authorities have seized 19 quintals of ganja in a major crackdown on the drug mafia.

During the investigation, it was revealed that some local police personnel were allegedly involved in facilitating deals with the gang.

Following the findings, ASI Kaushik Sahu and Constable Chittaranjan Panda have been suspended. Additionally, Home Guard Debarchan Nial has been removed from his duties in connection with the case.

In administrative reshuffling, Jharsuguda IIC Sukra Madhi has been transferred to the district headquarters, and Bargarh Cyber Police Station IIC Sanjay Kumar Parida has been assigned in his place. A departmental inquiry has been ordered against IIC Madhi to probe his role in the incident.
