Two key suspects involved in Machete attack case killed in police encounter

Jharsuguda, May 12: Jharsuguda police conducted an encounter near Belpahad, killing two main suspects in a machete attack that left one youth dead and another critically injured.

The deceased suspects have been identified as Chand Banachor and Sunil Mahananda. Both were admitted to Lakhanpur Hospital after the encounter.

The attack on May 11 targeted Rahul Mahato, a student of Junadihi College, who died, and Akash Sahu, who was critically injured.

Witnesses said four assailants arrived in a car, attacked the victims, and fled. Police rescued them and transferred Akash to Jharsuguda Medical College for further treatment.

Authorities confirmed that Chand and Sunil were the primary accused in the attack and have now been neutralized.
