Thunderstorms likely in Odisha for next four days, IMD issues alerts

Bhubaneswar, April 19: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms over several parts of Odisha for the next four days, accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and possible hailstorms. The weather office has issued orange and yellow warnings for different districts from April 20 to April 23.

Alongside thunderstorm activity, the IMD has also indicated a gradual rise in temperatures by 2 to 4°C in the coming days. However, no significant change in daytime temperatures is expected during the next three days.

District-wise Warning Details: April 20:

Orange Warning: Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur

Yellow Warning: Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal

April 21: Yellow Warning: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati

April 22: Yellow Warning: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam

April 23: Yellow Warning: Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada

The IMD has urged residents in the warned districts to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this period of unstable weather.
