Three-Day Raja mahotsav begins at Athagarh Town Club

Athagarh, June 15: The three-day Raja Mahotsav organized by Athagarh Town Club, one of the oldest institutions in the region, was inaugurated with much enthusiasm and cultural fervour.

The inaugural function was presided over by Town Club President Ram Narayan Mohanty. Prominent guests attending the event included senior advocate Pranakrushna Das, Athagarh NAC Executive Officer Balaya Dehuri, and Town Club life members Adeyita Nanda Rath, Sridhar Rath, Engineer Shiva Prasad Panda, Udayanath Satpathy, Laxmidhar Jena, and Joint Secretary Somnath Bhakta.

The programme was conducted by Club Treasurer Manoranjan Swain. On the opening day, a solo dance competition was held for participants in both junior and senior categories, drawing enthusiastic participation from young performers.

The Raja Mahotsav attracted large crowds from Athagarh and nearby areas, with visitors enjoying the Mina Bazaar and various cultural events. The festival featured performances by Athagarh Kala Kendra, Omkar Dance Group, and singer Biplab Das along with his team, who entertained the audience with a vibrant musical programme.

The celebrations are expected to continue over the next two days with a series of cultural and entertainment activities, adding to the festive spirit of Raja in the region.
