Tech for Seva: Reliance Foundation’s Puri Annaseva 2026 GIS Platform comes handy during Puri Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar, July 25: Among various Seva initiatives rolled out by Reliance Foundation during Puri Rath Yatra 2026, its Puri Annaseva 2026 GIS Platform has created interest among the tech savvy pilgrims and members of administration.

Reliance Foundation has developed and deployed the Puri Anna Seva 2026 GIS Platform as a prototype digital initiative to strengthen the planning, coordination, digital mapping, navigation, monitoring, verification, seva delivery and documentation of Seva activities during the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, in Puri. Accessible through desktop computers, mobile phones and tablets, the platform brings together geotagged service locations, photographs, deployment details, visitor information, navigation support and field-progress tracking on a single interactive map.

Pilgrims and visitors can use the application to search nearest police aid post for any assistance, primary medica assistance points and explore important temples, beach zones, cultural destinations, transport points, parking areas and public-service centres. They can also check the distance and route to various locations from the Shree Jagannath Temple, Gundicha Temple or the Anna Seva Centre at Bholanath High School.

Operational teams use the platform to search for facilities, navigate to service points, view geotagged photographs, verify deployed assets, monitor implementation progress and maintain digital evidence for reporting and review. The Puri Annaseva 2026 GIS Platform, a GIS-enabled platform, is supporting planning, monitoring, verification and documentation of seva activities while strengthening field coordination and operational decision-making.

Developed for Reliance Foundation’s Puri Rath Yatra Seva Services 2026, this prototype may be further refined and adapted for future Seva initiatives and other large-scale public events.

It is worth mentioning that Reliance, in collaboration with the Puri administration, is strengthening on-ground support through Puri Rath Yatra Seva Services 2026. Bringing together a comprehensive range of initiatives spanning Anna Seva, public support infrastructure, sanitation, volunteer engagement, community outreach and technology-enabled coordination, the initiative aims to enhance frontline assistance and help ensure safe, seamless and well-managed pilgrimage for lakhs of devotees expected to visit the holy city.

Reliance Foundation's Seva initiatives include Anna Seva, wherein freshly prepared satvik meals for pilgrims and frontline personnel, along with safe drinking water, being served from 15 to 27 July through a Central Kitchen and dedicated serving facility at Bholanath High School, Grand Road, Puri. It has also extended support for establishment of approximately 90 Police Aid Posts across more than 50 km of key pilgrim routes, including temple-access areas, transit points, medical zones, major junctions and coastal locations.

As part of City Cleanliness Drive, Garbage bags and protective gloves are being provided by Reliance Foundation through Puri Municipality to sanitation teams, volunteers and pilgrim-service organisations in high-footfall areas.
