Bhubaneswar: The Reliance Athletic High-Performance Centre, Bhubaneswar inmates Animesh Kujur bagged a gold and silver medals in the 200m and 100m race of the Saudi Grand Prix on Saturday night.
India’s fastest man Animesh Kujur won the men’s 200m title, clocking 20.77s at the Saudi GP. While
Britain’s David Harrison and Toby Harries won silver and bronze medals with a timing of 20.87s and 21.01s respectively
This was only Animesh’s second 200m race of the season last he ran in the Indian Series 3 with a timing of 20.74s, last season, Animesh rewrote history by breaking India’s 200m national record twice, lowering it to 20.32s.
Animesh finished 2nd in the 100m and won the silver medal in the men’s 100m final, clocking 10.44s. Another Indian sprinter Gurindervir Singh also clocked 10.44s to finish 3rd. However, Britain’s David Harrison won the title with 10.42s (- 2.4 m/s).
