Berhampur, Feb 7: The CBI took into custody a Berhmpur-based middleman, Sitaram of Shantinagar, Kukudakhandi, in connection with the ongoing SI recruitment scam. Sitaram was reportedly involved in manipulating recruitment processes and had repeatedly failed to respond to CBI summons. He was eventually apprehended with the assistance of Sadar and Berhampur police.
Investigations have revealed that the case involves a network of key players, including Shankar Pusti, owner of Panchsoft Technology Pvt. Ltd., Suresh Chandra Nayak of a Silicon company, main middlemen Arbind Das and Muna Mohanty, along with several others such as Biswaranjan Behera, Srikant Maharana, A. Abhimanyu Dora, Priyadarshini Samal, Sagar Kumar Gaud, Lokanath Sahu, Biswajit Harichandan, and Tafim Ahmad Khan.
The CBI has interrogated more than a dozen accused and is proceeding with arrests in a phased manner after gathering critical information. Earlier, over 112 associates linked to the case had already been arrested and questioned by the police and CBI to extract further details.
