Puri, July 22: With just a day left for the sacred Bahuda Yatra and the grand Suna Besha ceremony that follows, security has been significantly intensified at Puri Railway Station to manage the expected surge of pilgrims.
Lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Puri over the next two days, with a large number arriving by train to witness the return journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, followed by the spectacular Suna Besha ritual.
To ensure the safety of pilgrims, railway authorities have deployed face recognition teams at the station to screen passengers. Security personnel are also conducting thorough baggage inspections using luggage scanners, while surveillance and monitoring have been strengthened across the station premises.
The enhanced security arrangements are aimed at ensuring smooth crowd management and preventing any untoward incidents during one of the busiest phases of the annual Rath Yatra festivities.
