Puri, May 12: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid a heartfelt tribute to nurses worldwide on the occasion of International Nurses Day.

In his message, Pattnaik remembered Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and lauded the tireless dedication and selfless service of nurses.

“On #InternationalNursesDay, a heartfelt tribute to #FlorenceNightingale — the founder of modern nursing. Let us salute all nurses for their immense efforts and selfless service to humanity. Their dedication, compassion, and care continue to inspire the world every day. I am sharing one of my SandArt creations as a mark of respect and gratitude,” Pattnaik wrote in his post.

International Nurses Day is observed every year on May 12, commemorating Florence Nightingale’s birth anniversary and recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses in healthcare. Nursing requires skill, compassion, and unwavering focus, often under challenging conditions. Many nurses endure 12-hour shifts, which can stretch even longer due to staff shortages, emergency admissions, delayed handovers, and extensive documentation.
