Bhubaneswar, July 27: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday said the state government is on high alert and fully prepared to tackle any situation arising from heavy rainfall, urging people not to panic as there is no immediate flood threat.

After reviewing the situation, Pujari said all major rivers, including the Mahanadi, are flowing below the danger mark. ODRAF, Fire Services and field officials have been kept on standby, while pumps, tarpaulins and cooked food arrangements are in place for emergencies.

The IMD has issued a red warning for Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, with orange and yellow alerts in several others. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till July 29, while schools remained closed in four districts as a precaution.
