Bengaluru, June 6: Senior Congress leader and Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy has withdrawn his resignation following discussions with the party high command, Congress general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said on Saturday.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Surjewala described the resignation episode as a result of a misunderstanding and clarified that Reddy would continue to serve in the state cabinet under the Congress government.
The Congress leader sought to downplay the controversy, emphasizing that the issue had been resolved amicably after consultations between Reddy and the party leadership. He reiterated that the veteran minister remains committed to the government and the party.
Surjewala also launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing it of attempting to politicize the matter and derive political mileage from an internal issue that had already been settled.
The development comes amid political speculation surrounding Reddy's earlier announcement regarding his resignation, which had sparked discussions within Karnataka's political circles. Congress leaders, however, maintained that there was no crisis within the party and that the matter stood resolved.
