Bhubaneswar: Odisha ace swimmer Pratyasa Ray of the Odisha IIS JSW Swimming High Performance Centre (HPC) trainee bagged another gold medal for Odisha in the 79th Senior National Aquatic Championship 2026, currently underway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, by securing the gold medal in the Women's 100m Backstroke event.
Pratyasa clocked a personal best timing of 1:04.75, showcasing her exceptional talent, determination, and continuous progress at the national level. Competing against some of the country's finest swimmers,
With this victory, Pratyasa has now won two Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal at the championship. Earlier in the competition, she secured the Gold Medal in the Women's 200m Backstroke event and the Bronze Medal in the Women's 50m Backstroke, underlining her dominance across the backstroke disciplines.
Officials from the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha, and the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) congratulated Pratyasa on her outstanding performances and wished her continued success in the remaining events of the championship.
