Jagatsinghpur, June 14: While Odisha celebrates community festival Raja with a cultural fervour, it turned fatal for godly parents in a Jagatsinghpur village. Their son has hacked them to death over a silly matter.

The incident was reported from Tertang village under the Balikuda Police.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place over a silly argument between the accused with his elderly parents.

The aggrieved son hacked his parents with a sharp weapon that led them succumb to the injuries on the spot.

On being informed by the locals, the Balikuda Police rushed to the crime spot and took the accused to custody and seized the bodies, to send them for post mortem examinations.

A case was registered in this connection and the accused was later sent to judicial remand.
