Bhubaneswar, July 21: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, R.S. Gopalan on Tuesday said that 58.36 lakh notices are being generated to verify discrepancies in voter records.

He urged all the eligible citizens to verify their details and submit claims or objections by August 4, 2026 as the electoral roll revision drive intensified in the State.

Currently, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is underway across Odisha.

“I appeal to all eligible citizens to verify their details in the Draft Electoral Roll and submit claims, objections or correction requests, if required, through their BLO, the http://voters.eci.gov.in portal or the ECINET App on or before 04.08.2026,” said Gopalan.

“More than 58.36 lakh notices are being generated to verify discrepancies in voter records. So far, 57.98 lakh notices have been generated. Around 7.93 lakh notices have been delivered, and 1.42 lakh hearings have been completed, while more than 50 lakh notices are yet to be delivered,” said Gopalan.

He said that the exercise aims to prepare an accurate, transparent and error-free electoral roll ahead of future elections.

Notably, the draft electoral roll was published on July 5, with July 1, 2026 fixed as the qualifying date. The final electoral roll will be published on September 6 after disposal of all claims and objections.

He also highlighted the ongoing notice and hearings process and the facilitation measures for senior citizens, PwDs and other vulnerable groups to ensure a convenient and inclusive revision process.

He urged all electors to actively participate in the ongoing Claims & Objections phase and help prepare an accurate, transparent and error-free electoral roll.
