Puri, April 11: The inventory and counting of ornaments in the outer Ratna Bhandar are likely to be completed today, with the process for the inner treasury expected to begin from April 13 (Monday), informed Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Padhee.
On Friday, the exercise continued for the third consecutive day, lasting 7 hours and 10 minutes—from 11:25 AM to 6:35 PM. Officials said a majority of the ornaments in the outer treasury have already been catalogued.
The process includes detailed documentation through photography, videography, 3D mapping, and e-cataloging. Gemologists are examining pearls and precious stones used in the ornaments and preparing scientific records. Ornaments from the movable treasury, which were not included earlier, have also been brought under the inventory process.
Devotees were allowed darshan from inner barricades during the exercise, while only designated servitors accessed the sanctum via the Jagamohan for rituals. Authorities described the process as complex and time-intensive, stressing that accuracy remains the top priority.
The inventory is being conducted as per SOP guidelines in the presence of a high-level committee led by Justice Biswanath Rath, along with district officials, police, and authorized servitors.
Officials said the process will remain suspended on Sunday due to expected heavy footfall and resume again between April 16 and 18 after key rituals. Meanwhile, nearly 80–90% of the outer treasury inventory has been completed, according to Chhatisha Nijog Mahanayak Janardan Pati Joshi Mahapatra.
