Bhubaneswar, July 4: The Centre for Wildlife Health at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry under the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar, has become the first laboratory in India to receive National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditation for wildlife forensics and veterinary testing.
The laboratory has been accredited under the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, making it the country's first NABL-recognised facility dedicated to wildlife forensic testing.
Describing the achievement as a significant milestone for Odisha, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a post on X that the accreditation will enhance the State's capabilities in wildlife health surveillance, disease diagnosis and forensic investigations.
The CMO stated that the recognition reflects Odisha's commitment to advancing scientific excellence under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
According to officials, the NABL accreditation will enable the Centre for Wildlife Health to deliver internationally accepted, reliable and high-quality testing services.
