Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: With just one day left for the grand festival of colours, Odisha Police has completed its preparations to ensure a peaceful and secure Holi celebration across the state.

In a recent meeting, Odisha's Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania briefed Superintendents of Police (SPs) on the need to remain alert for any disturbances or emergencies. The safety and protection of citizens have been prioritized, as they are every year.

Senior police officers have also been instructed to take preventive measures against the spread of rumours, misleading information, and inflammatory posts on social media. Cyber cells are actively monitoring various platforms to ensure no harmful content goes viral.

In addition, heightened police patrolling and strict checks will be conducted in sensitive areas. Security arrangements for processions will include live CCTV surveillance to monitor activities.

A decision has been made to apprehend habitual offenders in a bid to prevent any untoward incidents during the festival. Furthermore, special focus has been placed on cracking down on drug trafficking to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
