Odisha Health Minister assures OMSA to take decision on doctor's demand

Bhubaneswar, January 1: Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling assured that the state government is reviewing the Odisha Medical Services Association's (OMSA) demands and is committed to addressing all reasonable requests.

Mahaling shared that he had held two personal discussions with OMSA and official meetings to address the issues raised by doctors over the last 16 months. He emphasized that, unlike the previous government, the current administration is serious about fulfilling the demands, and a high-level committee has been set up to examine them. This committee includes officials from the Health, Finance, and Law departments.

OMSA’s 18-point charter includes demands for the implementation of the Central DACP, inclusion of dental and ad hoc doctors under DACP, the KBK Exit Policy, a transparent transfer policy, and safety measures for medical officers. OMSA President Kishore Chandra Mishra criticized delays and warned that protests would continue until the demands are met.
