Odisha Governor Advocates for Value-Based Education to Foster a Progressive Society

Bhubaneswar, March 29: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasized the importance of value-based education in fostering a peaceful and progressive society. Speaking at the inauguration of the “Value Education Programme for Teachers” at the Ramakrishna Mission, he highlighted the pivotal role of teachers in shaping students' intellect and character.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Kambhampati said, “Education is not just the acquisition of knowledge but the cultivation of inner peace, strength, and character.” He urged educators to inspire students to think fearlessly, act compassionately, and serve humanity.

The Governor also reflected on India's rich cultural values, stressing that principles like truth, love, and non-violence should be woven into daily life, not just taught from textbooks. He commended the Ramakrishna Mission for its contribution to holistic education, which integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth.

Addressing global challenges, Kambhampati called for promoting tolerance and dialogue, asserting that true national strength is found in the character of its people.
