Bhubaneswar, May 7: The Odisha government has formally unveiled the Odisha City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy, 2026, aiming to boost the development and expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) networks and city gas distribution infrastructure throughout the state.
The policy, approved by the state cabinet under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhion on April 22, has now been officially published by the Housing and Urban Development Department in the state gazette.
Designed to promote natural gas as a cleaner and environmentally friendly fuel, the initiative targets usage across domestic, commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors. The policy supports the broader vision of ’ Viksit Odisha ’ and aligns with India’s national goals for a clean energy transition.
