Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Reviews Progress of Rath Construction in Puri

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday visited the Ratha Khala, the chariot construction yard on the Grand Road (Bada Danda) in Puri, to review the progress of the construction of the three sacred chariots for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra ahead of the annual Rath Yatra.

Bhubaneswar, June 29: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday visited the Ratha Khala, the chariot construction yard on the Grand Road (Bada Danda) in Puri, to review the progress of the construction of the three sacred chariots for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra ahead of the annual Rath Yatra.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with the Maharanas, the master craftsmen engaged in the construction of the chariots, and reviewed the pace of work. He discussed various aspects of the ongoing construction and emphasized the need for timely completion while ensuring the highest standards of traditional craftsmanship.

Majhi also directed officials to provide all necessary facilities and support to the craftsmen so that the chariot construction is completed smoothly and on schedule.

During his puri visit on Deba Snana Purnima, the Chief Minister said he had offered prayers to Lord Jagannath for peace, prosperity and the overall development of Odisha.

The world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is scheduled to commence on July 14, while the nine-day annual festival will conclude with the Niladri Bije ceremony on July 26.
