Puri, June 29: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday held a courtesy meeting with Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb at 'Srinaar' (King's Palace) in Puri, on the auspicious occasion of Snana Yatra.

“During the visit to Puri, I held a courtesy meeting with Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb at Rajnaor, and discussed preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra and other matters,” Majhi posted on “X’.

The meeting between the CM and the Gajapati, the foremost servitor of Lord Jagannath, highlights the close coordination between the State Government and Gajapati for the smooth conduct of the upcoming annual Rath Yatra and other major festivals and preservation of Jagannath culture.

Puri MP Sambit Patra, Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattanayak and Puri Collector Dibyajyoti Parida also accompanied the CM to the Rajnaor.

Earlier today, the Chief Minister visited the Shree Jagannath Temple and offered prayers to the sibling deities atop the Snana Mandap on the occasion of Snana Purnima.

"I offered prayers to Mahaprabhu on Snana Purnima. I have prayed for the well-being of the people of Odisha and the entire world and smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra,” Majhi told media persons after offering prayers to the deities.

Lakhs of devotees have thronged the 12th century shrine on Snana Purnima to witness the majestic Hati Besha (Elephant attire) of Lord Jagannath and His siblings, elder brother Lord Balabhadra and their younger sister Devi Subhadra atop the Snana Mandap.
