Bhubaneswar, March 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed the state police administration to ensure strict security measures during the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations, scheduled to take place across the state on Thursday, March 26.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order during the nine-day Ram Navami Yatra, which is a significant cultural and religious event for the people of Odisha. CM Majhi underlined the police administration's role in facilitating a peaceful atmosphere for devotees, saying, "It is the responsibility of the police to ensure that the citizens of Odisha, including devotees, can observe this sacred festival without any disturbances or interruptions."

The Chief Minister further highlighted the need for a secure environment where people of all faiths can celebrate the festival safely and without any hindrances. "The celebration of Ram Navami should be marked by joy and devotion. We must make sure that the spirit of the festival is upheld, and all necessary arrangements are made for the smooth conduct of the celebrations," CM Majhi said.

The Ram Navami celebrations, which will begin on March 26, will span nine days and include various processions and religious activities across the state. The Chief Minister urged the police to be vigilant and well-prepared to handle the large number of participants in the Ram Navami Yatra. He assured that the state government would provide full support to law enforcement agencies to ensure a trouble-free and harmonious observance of the festival.

Security personnel have been asked to be deployed in key locations where processions are expected, and additional measures will be taken to ensure the safety of the devotees and participants in various events. The Chief Minister also directed local police stations to coordinate with community leaders and ensure that all religious practices are carried out peacefully.
