Bhubaneswar, April 2 : Odisha Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, on Thursday conducted a review meeting to assess preparations for the 78th Foundation Day celebrations of cBhubaneswar, the state capital, and urged the organizing teams to ensure the event's grand success. The meeting took place at the Secretariat.

The Foundation Day celebrations will be held over two days this year: on April 13 independently, and on April 14 in collaboration with the State Government's ‘Odia Wing.’ The first day will feature a range of activities, including the hoisting of the Foundation Day flag by the chief guest and a ceremonial parade from Rabindra Mandap to Jayadev Bhavan.

In the evening on April 13, an exhibition showcasing the heritage and pride of Bhubaneswar will be organized at Jayadev Bhavan. Chief Secretary Garg emphasized the importance of providing adequate facilities for students attending the event, including water, ORS, and other necessary provisions to ensure their comfort throughout the celebrations.

The second day, April 14, will feature a coordinated cultural program at Utkal Mandap, hosted in collaboration with the ‘Odia Wing.’

The meeting focused on the involvement of multiple departments, including the Khordha District Administration, Police, Fire Services, Health, as well as both Government and Non-Government Institutions, national banks, and the general public. Organizers also discussed measures for cleaning and decorating the event venue, ensuring smooth traffic management, and maintaining tight security protocols.

Senior officials from various departments, such as the Development Commission, Sports and Youth Services, Education, Information and Public Relations, Tourism, and Police, actively participated in the meeting. The gathering also included key members from the Foundation Day celebration committee, who provided valuable inputs to ensure the celebrations would be both successful and safe. Coordinated arrangements are being made to manage the large crowds expected to attend the two-day event.
