Odia movies now dazzle on national screen: ‘Ananta’ bags INCA Award following ‘Bou-Butu-Bhoota’

Bhubaneswar, April 18: With a golden era for the Odisha Film Industries, Odia movies now dazzle on national screen. While the horror-comedy ‘Bou Butu Bhoota’ bagged INCA Award on Friday, another film ‘Ananta’ has won the INCA recognition back-to-back on Saturday.

Odia movie ‘Anata’ that had amassed national accreditation last year, has been recognized with the coveted INCA Award this year.

Apart from it, Ananta’s Director Sabyasachi Mohapatra has been adjudged as Best Director by the jury.

Two new Odia films Bou Butu Bhoota and ‘Ananta’ were released across Odisha last year during the Raja festivity drawing significant public attention and setting new benchmarks in the regional film industry.

Ananta, based on legendary writer Fakir Mohan Senapati’s iconic story 'Randipua Ananta', opened in 40 theatres in June. While ‘Ananta’ is produced by Archita, an ace actress and wife of Sabyasachi, it attracted housefull audience for its social message and humanics appeal.

The film was jointly directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, and his son Kumar C. Dev.

Produced under the Kumar Pictures banner, 'Ananta' features Sabyasachi and Suryamayee in lead roles, with dialogues written by Dr. Rajani Ranjan and music composed by Abhijit Majumdar.
