Bhubaneswar, May 9: The Odia film Dandakaali has commenced shooting at the historic Dharakot Rajbati and the royal palace in Ganjam district. The movie draws inspiration from the spiritual and traditional festival of Maa Kali’s Dandayattra celebrated in the region. Rajshri Ghosh is the producer, while Sukanta Sahu serves as the executive producer of the project.

The film is directed by Sudhanshu Mohan, with Prem Anand overseeing the music direction. Abhishekh Mishra is credited for the storyline, Dillip Choudhury has penned the dialogues, and Deepak Kumar manages cinematography. Trilochan Swain is assisting as co-director.

The movie features a stellar cast including Mahasweta Ray, Siddhanta Mahapatra, Ushashree Mishra, Suryamayee, Choudhury Joy Prakash Das, Krishna Kar (K.K.), Nihar Ranjan Samal, Gurudev, Sridhar Mahanta, Tripti, Udit Guru, and Eli Padhi in prominent roles.

Shooting will take place across the picturesque locales of Dharakot, Khalikote, Kanchana, and Salabana in Ganjam. The natural beauty of the Dharakot region provides an ideal setting for filming, which has encouraged the producers to schedule key scenes there.
