Bhubaneswar, July 27: “It’s nobody but Lord Jagannath who made me win the coveted trophy”, said mellifluous Odia singer Jyotirmayee Nayak on Monday.
As the singing-bird landed at the Bhubaneswar Airport in her homeland Odisha, she hurried to leave for Puri to dedicate the trophy to Lord Jagannath amid the ‘Niladri Bije’ rituals, going on today in the shrine city.
Responding to media at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Jyotirmayee, drenched with tears of devotion attributed her all success to Lord Jagannath who is believed to be the maestro of 16-majestic arts(Sola Kala).
“Lord Jagannath made me win the tough race climbing up all hierarchies seamlessly–one after the other, with the invisible and divine prompts of the Lord during the show”, humbled Jyotirmayee.
“Today I am here to announce the incognito winner of the trophy. He is Lord Jagannath,the Lord of the Universe and the presiding deity of Shrikshetra Puri”.
“I am too ecstatic to present the trophy to my Lord during the ‘Niladri Bije’ i.e during his homecoming after the annual sojourn. I will have darshan of the deities on their way to home and offer my stupendous win to the Lord”, Jyotirmayee said.”
Underlining her passion as a singer Jyotirmayee said,“I recall my joyous childhood days when I was humming as a hummingbird mumbling devotional songs offered to Lord Jagannath. A little sweet spark, observed by my parents and near & dear, eventually made me to come on stage & perform with captivating hypnotism”,
“I would also like to thank my parents who helped me providing better platforms to learn, perform and the enormous audience who helped me with their unwavering moral support to my voice.
“I had been to Puri during the Rath Yatra where I had earnestly begged the almighty to bless me on my musical journey, that finally granted by Lord Jagannath”, added Jyotirmayee while she was boarding a car for Puri with the trophy to hand over it for the sake of the God.

She is also a recognized music therapist who works with cancer patients and expectant mothers, with her captivating psychological sets of songs & Lorries.
