Sambalpur, June 11: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has constituted a five-member high level committee to examine allegations regarding the engagement of certain para-medical staff at Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Government Hospital (PMPGH), Talcher, by service provider Commando Industrial Security Force with allegedly forged educational/ professional certificates.
The committee has been mandated to conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter, assess the responsibility of the service provider and others if any, and recommend suitable corrective measures, including standard operating procedures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
The committee has been directed to submit its report to the Director (HR), MCL within three (03) days.
The medical college and hospital infrastructure was established by MCL as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The hospital was handed over to the Government of Odisha, in December 23.
Owing to initial constraints and on the directions of the Government of Odisha, MCL has been providing all support services including engaging paramedic manpower, to ensure its smooth functioning.
The allegations relate to a limited number of fresh engagements made recently. The tainted staff has been terminated immediately.
Findings of the committee will decide further action, as necessary, said MCL in a statement.
