Baripada, May 16: The Mayurbhanj District Health Department observed National Dengue Day at the CPCH Conference Hall in Baripada, aiming to raise public awareness about dengue fever and preventive measures.
The awareness programme, conducted under the guidance of Additional District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bijay Das, highlighted the symptoms, causes, and preventive strategies for dengue. Citizens were advised to keep their homes and surrounding areas clean, avoid stagnant water, and take steps to prevent mosquito breeding.
The event saw active participation from health workers, officials, and members of the general public, who engaged in discussions on how to curb the spread of dengue and protect community health.
Dr. Das emphasised the importance of public vigilance and proactive measures in preventing dengue outbreaks, especially during the monsoon season, when mosquito breeding is at its peak.
