Bhubaneswar, July 17: Industry baron Anil Agarwal on Thursday paid profound obeisance to Lord Jagannath on the deity’s sacred Rath Yatra, celebrated in Puri and far beyond the shrine.
Recalling his joyous experience from the past during his visits to the Shree Jagannath Shrine in Odisha’s puri, he spelled out some prime legends on Gundicha Temple & Divine craft of Viswakarma, relating the pious Shree Jagannath Cult.
Taking to X, Agarwal wrote, “Today's day is very sacred for all of us. Lord Jagannath, along with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, is setting out on his divine Rath Yatra.”
Agarwal also wrote, “On this occasion, I always recall a very beautiful story associated with the idols of Lord Jagannath. It is said that when the divine architect Vishwakarma ji, taking the form of an elderly sculptor, was crafting these wondrous idols, he had laid down a condition that no one would open the door of the room for 21 days. But due to anxiety and curiosity, the king opened the door ahead of time. The sculptor suddenly vanished, and the idols remained as they were—without hands and legs, just as we see them today. The king was overcome with grief, regretting his grave mistake. Then the Lord himself appeared and said to him, "O King, do not be sorrowful. I wish to remain in this very form before the world so that people may understand that external appearances or shapes mean nothing to me; to attain me, a pure heart, true love, and unwavering faith are enough."
The post also added,“Think about it—how profound a message is conveyed in our stories! This form of the Lord teaches us that no flaw within us or external circumstance can hold back our resolve.
Lord Jagannath has always showered immense blessings upon me. Whenever I visit the temple, I receive this very inspiration from the Lord: that we all should always be ready with selfless intent to serve society and the people around us.”
“My only prayer to Jagannath ji is that he brings happiness, prosperity, and good health into all our lives, and that people's faith in him and this sacred sentiment deepens throughout the world. Heartfelt wishes to all of you for the Jagannath Rath Yatra”, wrote Agarwal on his X post.
