Indian Envoy Petal Gahlot Exposes Pakistan's "Duplicity" on World Stage

India Delivers Scathing Rebuke to Pakistan at UN General Assembly

India has delivered a powerful and sharply-worded rebuttal to Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly, accusing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of glorifying terrorism and spreading blatant falsehoods on the world stage. Exercising its right of reply, India systematically dismantled Pakistan's narrative, reinforcing its own position of having a "zero tolerance" policy for terrorism.

"Absurd Theatrics and a History of Terror"

The blistering response was delivered by Petal Gahlot, India's First Secretary to the UN. She characterised the Pakistani Prime Minister's address as "absurd theatrics" and stated that no amount of drama could conceal Islamabad's long and well-documented history of deploying and exporting terrorism as a central pillar of its foreign policy.

Gahlot pointed to specific instances of this policy, reminding the assembly that Pakistan had sheltered Osama bin Laden for a decade while simultaneously claiming to be a partner in the war on terror. She also cited Pakistan's recent move to shield the Resistance Front, a sponsored terror outfit, from accountability at the UN Security Council for a deadly attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, she highlighted India's successful counter-terror strikes during "Operation Sindoor" and questioned how Pakistan's leaders could publicly glorify the very terrorists slain in those operations.

Contradicting the Narrative of Victory

India's envoy also directly challenged Sharif's "bizarre" account of the recent military conflict between the two nations. She presented a starkly different timeline of events, stating that while Pakistan was threatening further attacks on May 9, its military was pleading directly with India for a ceasefire by May 10. The intervening event, Gahlot asserted, was the significant destruction of multiple Pakistani airbases by Indian forces, the evidence of which is publicly available. "If destroyed runways and burnt-out hangars look like victory... Pakistan is welcome to enjoy it," she stated.

Clear Conditions for Peace

While refuting Pakistan's claims, Gahlot laid out a clear and unambiguous path to peace. She reiterated that if the Pakistani Prime Minister was sincere in his desire for peace, the conditions were straightforward: immediately shut down all terrorist camps and hand over all terrorists wanted for attacks in India.

Concluding her address, Gahlot delivered India's unequivocal message to the global community. She affirmed that India would make no distinction between terrorists and their state sponsors, holding both accountable. She firmly stated that India would never bow to threats of nuclear blackmail and that its message was clear, "there must be zero tolerance for terrorism."
