Fish vendor bludgeoned to death; Thrown beside Jagannath Temple in Cuttack

In a gruesome murder, a fish vendor was allegedly bludgeoned to death in Cuttack on Sunday. The incident took place in the Khan Nagar area of the city under the Badambadi police limit. The deceased has been identified as Papu Das who belongs to the Hazari Lane.

​​​​​​​Cuttack, Jan 11: In a gruesome murder, a fish vendor was allegedly bludgeoned to death in Cuttack on Sunday.

The incident took place in the Khan Nagar area of the city under the Badambadi police limit.

Th deceased has been identified as Papu Das who belongs to the Hazari Lane.

According to police, getting information from locals Papu’s body was recovered from a pool of blood that was lying near a Jagannath Temple. A stone with blood stain was also found from the spot that is suspected to have been used as the weapon. Subsequently, the body was seized and sent to SCB Medical College for post-mortem examinations.

Inquest & primary investigation reveal it a case of brutal murder. A case has been registered and investigation is underway to reach at the miscreants, said the IO.
