Kendrapada, May 15: A land dispute allegedly turned fatal at Baradang village under Mahakalapada police limits in Kendrapara district, where a youth was beaten to death late on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Golak Chandra Nauri, a homeopathic doctor by profession.

According to sources, Golak had an argument with his elder brother Abhaya over a long-standing property dispute. The verbal altercation soon escalated into violence, following which Abhaya along with other family members allegedly launched a group attack on him.

It is alleged that the accused continued assaulting Golak even after he collapsed unconscious on the ground. He was first taken to Mahakalapada Community Health Centre and later shifted to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead at the hospital.

Following the incident, police detained four persons, including the prime accused Abhaya, and launched an investigation into the case.
